Welcome to the Vertical Chill Climbing Walls & SkyRide at Xscape Castleford.
Offering huge Utah inspired indoor rock climbing towers plus an awesome aerial assault course – The Skyride. The Climbing walls offer over 47 ft (15 metres) of pure indoor rock climbing. Whether you are an expert, beginner, in need of some refreshing or younger climber come along and improve your technique or learn to climb with one of our many courses on offer. All gear and entry is included.
Supervised sessions last for 25 minutes, group sizes are on a 1 to 4 ratio with an instructor. During sessions an instructor will guide around an appropriate selection (on average 3-4) of the different routes available.
KIDS CLUB
For kids, 6 - 18 years old that would like to climb on a regular basis and improve their climbing. They must have been on at least three of our 25 minute sessions, to make sure that climbing is for them. They will learn knots and basic rope techniques. We provide a fun, friendly atmosphere for them to learn in. There’s also a bit of competition thrown in to keep them on their toes.
Sessions cost £10 per week, or £40
a month,
they must be booked at least a week in advance.

Adult Start Up Course;
Learn all the basics, how to harness up, tie in, belay and different climbing
techniques. 3 week course, Mondays 6.30-8pm – Advance booking required.

Defy gravity on Skyride;
Experience a new vertical sensation with SkyRide, one of the first of
its kind to be opened in the UK. Skyride takes the adventurer to a previously
unexperienced realm. Anyone from the age of 6 upwards can try it. With
no specific technical training or expensive equipment hire required it
is an exhilarating ride! The SkyRide is suspended 15 metres high above
the cracked arid desert floor of the Atrium and is ideal for party and
group bookings.
The experience is up to 20 minutes long, each SkyRider getting one go around the course. The length of time on the ride can vary depending on the group size & ability. Groups are accompanied by two instructors who provide a safety brief & instructions on how to complete the course.
Minimum age 6 years old. You must arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your session. This allows us to get you checked in & ready to start on time.
Staff are trained to the highest national standard for climbing and mountainous activity.
